Dear Mr. Checkettes:
Thank you for your letter of June 22. The Department of Planning Services' staff
and the Weld County Health Department staff reviewed your request to change the
number of milking cows to 750 and relocate heifers to a heifer facility elsewhere
and the total number of animal units would still not exceed the numbers allowed
with Special Review Permit #827. The staff has determined that this would be a
material deviation from the plans or standards that were approved.
Please call or write me if you have any questions.
Respectfully,
. Sc ue

Subject:
In response to your referral regarding the proposed changes at Arvada Stake, I
reviewed our file. As indicated in the attached letter, the manager, Roswell
Checketts, requested approval for an increase in the number of milking cows. Mr.
Checketts said that they will relocate enough heifers to comply with the USR
limit of 900 animals.
The Division does feel that this request constitutes a significant change.
However, it is important for the applicant to continue to comply with the current
Colorado Confined Animal Feeding Operations Control Regulation.
If you have further questions regarding this matter, call 353-0635.

Dear Keith;
Enclosed are the plans for expansion of the dairy facility. We
propose to milk 750 cows. We will move the heifers off sight to
be raised at a heifer facility else where. This will be done so
as not to exceed the number of animals designated by the special
use permit.
New equipment will be installed in the milk barn. Two more
corrals will be added and one existing corral will be enlarged.
My supervisor in Salt Lake City wants written approval from the
Weld County Planning for our proposal, saying that we are in
compliance of the special use permit. I need the written approval
from you by June 29, 1993.If you have any questions or suggestions, please call me. 723-0. 12r
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, eigekt—
