Home My WebLink About900663.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PROPOSALS FOR FLEET MAINTENANCE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with Proposals for fleet maintenance for Weld County and the City of Greeley from Lear Siegler, and WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of said Proposals are stated in the copy being attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said Proposals from Lear Siegler. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Proposals for fleet maintenance for Weld County and the City of Greeley from Lear Siegler be, and hereby are, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and hereby is, authorized to sign any necessary documents. COLORADO July 24, 1990 Mayor and City Council City of Greeley 1000 10th Street Greeley, CO 80631 Dear Mayor and Council Members: This is to advise you that on July 25, 1990, the Board of County Commissioners will be approving the proposal from Lear Siegler for fleet maintenance services effective October 1, 1990. After reviewing all proposals, checking references, and interviewing the low bidder, the Board has concluded Lear Siegler is the successful bidder. The Lear Siegler proposal of $991,714 for just the county is $228,811 below our current provider. Based upon a joint proposal to both the City of Greeley and Weld County, Lear Siegler' s proposal of $1,332,269 is $437,387 below our current provider and $400,231 below the proposal submitted by the City of Greeley staff for a savings of $204,698 for the City of Greeley and $195,533 for Weld County. Based upon references, interviews, and the proposal, we are confident Lear Siegler can do the job and save the taxpayers of Weld County and Greeley over $400,000. For these reasons, we invite you to participate with us in this savings to the taxpayer by accepting the joint proposal effective October 1, 1990. If you do accept the joint proposal, the county is agreeable to being the primary contractor with Lear Siegler and having an intergovernmental agreement between Weld County and the City of Greeley for city services. In the event you accept the joint proposal, please have city staff work with Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, to develop the necessary agreement.
