OF THE•STATUE OF LIBERTY:
Commissioner Andersen offered the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, Long's Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America
have provided a copy of the Statue of Liberty and wish to present
same to the people of Weld County, Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado that they do hereby provide a site for the erection
of said statue on the northeast corner of the Court House lawn and hereby
accept same for and on behalf of the people of Weld County, Colorado.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Long's Peak Council of the Boy Scouts
of America be commended for this patriotic action, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Don Kinney, Council Crusade Chairman,
Theodore G. Wittow, Weld County Crusade Chairman, Lewis E. Kitts, North Weld
County District Chairman, Carl Burch, South Weld County District Chairman and
Ivan Gilbaugh, Weld County Scout Commissioner be commended for their civic
efforts in securing this statue and Sidney G. Frazier for designing and Frank A.
Berger for the construction of the base.
The resolution was seconded by Commissioner Hanson and adopted by
the following vote: S }
