The Department of Planning Services' staff has considered your request to replace a tower on a site permitted by SUP- 359, and has determined that the replacement of the 20-foot tower with a 60-foot tower will not be considered a major change to the permit as approved. Although the existing tower is not documented on the approved permit, it is the opinion of the staff that the tower itself is not a major change to the approved permit. Please call the Building Inspection Division at 353-3845, Extension 3525, regarding any required building permits. Please let me know if you have any questions. LUPTON TERMINAL LOCATED IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 20, TOWNSHIP 2 NORTH, RANGE 66 WEST, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO Dear Ms. Adler: Conoco Pipe Line Company (CPL) has a terminal site about 2 miles north of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, just east of Highway 85 on Weld County Road 20. This site has existed for many years at this location and at this time CPL wishes to update the facility. The communication tower is now only 20 feet high and does not provide an adequate range for our two-way radios. Therefore, we would like to construct a new tower 60 feet in height, which will provide the capabilities for communication we need. The new tower will be constructed inside our existing fence line, and would be approximately 35 feet from the centerline of the county road. This site for the tower was chosen because it was the most desirable location inside our property and would interfere the least with our continued safe operation of the facility. Please consider this request and advise me of the requirements for us to proceed with our project. If permits are necessary, please furnish them to the above address and I will complete and return them. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation in this matter.
