RE: APPROVE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF GREELEY CONCERNING
TABULATION OF ELECTION BALLOTS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Intergovernmental Agreement
between City of Greeley and Weld County, Colorado, concerning tabulation of City
election ballots for the November 2, 1993, regular municipal election, with the
terms and conditions being as stated in said agreement, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said
agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the abovementioned Intergovernmental Agreement between
City of Greeley and Weld County, Colorado, be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and hereby is,
authorized to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the/ following vote on the 27th day of October, A.D. , 1993.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
This Intergovernmental Agreement is made and entered into this
19th day of October , 1993, by and between Weld County,
Colorado (County) and City of Greeley (City) , collectively referred
to as the Parties, for the administration of their respective
duties concerning tabulation of election ballots.
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, pursuant to Colorado Constitution Article XIV,
Section 18 (2) (a) , and Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , as amended, the
County and the City may cooperate or contract with each other to
provide any function, service or facility lawfully authorized to
each, and any such contract may provide for the sharing of costs,
the imposition of taxes, and incurring of debt; and,
WHEREAS, the County administers an electronic ballot
tabulation process for the citizens of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide electronic ballot
tabulation for the citizens of Greeley, Colorado, through the
County, for the November 2, 1993 regular municipal election, and
WHEREAS, the Clerk and Recorder of Weld County and the City
Clerk of Greeley desire to set forth their respective
responsibilities in the tabulation of the ballots for the November
2 , 1993 , regular municipal election for the City of Greeley.
NOW THEREFORE, the Parties agree as follows:
1. The County Clerk and Recorder of Weld County shall
perform the following services and activities for the
City's election:
a. Provide data processing services for the tabulation
of City election ballots, including program set-
up, testing, tabulation, and related reports.
b. Accept responsibility for the City election ballots
when received from the City on November 2, 1993,
including appropriate security and retention for a
period of thirty (30) days after the November 2 ,
1993 election.
c. Provide a recount of the election ballots in the
event of an election challenge.
2 . The City Clerk of Greeley shall perform the following
services and activities:
a. Provide necessary election materials for appropriate
tabulation program set-up, testing, tabulation, and
related reports.

b. Prepare the City election ballots for delivery by
the City to the County on November 2, 1993 .
c. Provide staff and/or volunteers to participate in
the November 2, 1993, election ballot tabulation
process as needed.
d. Provide equipment and staff for the media center to
be located in City Council chambers of the Public
Safety Building, 919 7th Street, Greeley, for
receipt of election tabulation results for the City
election and the election conducted by the County.
3 . The City shall pay the County for costs associated with
the ballot tabulation process, estimated at $5, 000.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto have signed this
Agreement to be effective as of the date first written above.

RESOLUTION NO. 54 , 1993
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GREELEY TO ENTER
INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY FOR TABULATION
OF ELECTION BALLOTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Colorado Constitution, a County and
a municipality may cooperate or contract with each other to provide
any function, service or facility lawfully authorized to each, and
any such contract may provide for the sharing of costs, the
imposition of taxes, and incurring of debt; and
WHEREAS, the County of Weld administers an electronic ballot
tabulation process for the citizens of Weld County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greeley desires to provide electronic
ballot tabulation for the citizens of Greeley, Colorado, through
the County, for the November 2, 1993 regular municipal election;
and
WHEREAS, the Clerk and Recorder of Weld County and the City
Clerk of Greeley desire to set forth their respective
responsibilities in the tabulation of the ballots for the November
2 , 1993, regular municipal election for the City of Greeley; and
WHEREAS, this intergovernmental agreement is allowed under
City Charter section 3-7.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GREELEY AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into the attached
intergovernmental agreement with the County of Weld for tabulation
of election ballots.
2 . This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of
October, 1993 .
