RES .NO. WHEREAS, State Highway 34 (SH 34) is part of the State

maintain SH 34, and the Transportation Commission is
responsible under §43-1-106, C.R.S. , to formulate the
general policy with respect to such maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Commission also has the

WHEREAS, these documents identified the need to increase

WHEREAS, the location and design alternatives were
analyzed that included a four lane roadway design,
coupled with a new alignment of SH 34 Corridor; and
WHEREAS, the environmental impacts were evaluated for
each alternative; and
WHEREAS, Exhibit A (as contained in the official agenda)
describes the selected alternative between Kersey and

WHEREAS, the Finding of No Significant Impacts was
signed by CDOT and concurred by the FHWA on August 12,
1993; and
WHEREAS, under §43--106, and due to the new alignment of
SH 34, any portion of SH 34 abandoned by the Commission
