RE: REQUEST FOR AN ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATION BY COUNTY APPOINTED MEMBERS TO
THE GREELEY-WELD COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuit to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with
the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Sections 41-3-101, CRS, et seq. , otherwise known as the "Colorado
Public Airport Authority Act", authorizes the creation of airport authorities,
corporate and politic, by cities and counties, and
WHEREAS, on July 24, 1978, the Board of County Commissioners enacted Weld
County Ordinance No. 30, entitled "In the Matter of Creating the Weld County
Municipal Airport Authority" with an effective date of August 1, 1978, and
WHEREAS, on May 23, 1983, the Board of County Commissioners enacted Weld
County Ordinance No. 30-A, entitled "In the Matter of Changing the Name of the
Weld County Municipal Airport Authority to the Greeley-Weld County Airport
Authority" with an effective date of June 1, 1983, and
WHEREAS, Weld County Ordinance No. 30 authorizes the Board of County
Commissioners to appoint three members to the Greeley-Weld County Airport
Authority Board of Commissioners, with one appointee being a County Commissioner,
and
WHEREAS, the current County appointees to the Greeley-Weld County Airport
Authority are Bill Webster, County Commissioner, Mark Hinze, and C. H. "Bum"
Carter, and
WHEREAS, the Greeley City Council and the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County have agreed to restructure the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority
Board of Commissioners to include only five members, with two members being City
Council persons, two members being County Commissioners, and a fifth member
appointed by the Greeley City Council, and Board of Weld County Commissioners,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County has, as of this
date, conducted the first reading of Weld County Ordinance No. 30-B which enacts
said restructuring of the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority Board of
Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this restructuring prior to the target date
of January 1, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County deems it
necessary to request and accept the resignations of the two County appointees to
the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, namely Mark
Hinze and C. H. "Bum" Carter, and
WHEREAS, letters requesting said resignations, both being dated November
18, 1992, and being served upon those gentlemen on that date, are attached
hereto.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Board hereby requests the resignations of the County
appointees to the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners,
namely Mark Hinze and C. H. "Bum" Carter, and respect their request that said
resignations be effective December 31, 1992.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that the
Chairman's signature is authorized on the attached letters, and on any further
correspondence in regards to said resignations which may be appropriate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that the Board
hereby accepts said resignations once they are received.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 25th day of November, A. D. , 1992.

RE : Restructuring of the Board of Commissioners for the Greeley-
Weld County Airport Authority
Dear Mark:
The Greeley City Council and the Weld County Board of County
Commissioners have decided to restructure the Board of
Commissioners for the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority. The
new Board will be made up of four elected officials , two City
Council members and two County Commissioners, plus one person
selected at large by those elected officials .
Both governments wish to complete the restructuring as soon as
possible. Our attorneys have advised that the resignation of all
existing Board members would facilitate the restructuring.
Consequently, I am requesting your resignation from the current
Board of Commissioners of the Greeley-Weld County Airport
Authority. Likewise, the City is requesting their appointees to
resign.
On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, I
wish to thank you for your service of the Airport Board. We
certainly appreciate all of the time and effort which you have put
forth in your service as a Board member.
