RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF SPEED ZONE OF 45 MPH ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 1 AND
EXTEND 35 MPH SPEED ZONE ON LARIMER COUNTY ROAD 2
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineering Department has recommended to the
Board that a speed zone of 45 MPH be installed on Weld County Road 1 from
Vermillion Road (Boulder County) to within approximately 2,000' of Larimer County
Road 2, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineering Department has also recommended to the
Board that the 35 MPH speed zone on Larimer County Road 2 be extended
approximately 2,000' south, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic signs, as detailed on
the attached Exhibits A - C, incorporated herein by reference, are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Engineering be, and hereby is, directed
to install "Speed Limit 45" and "Speed Limit 35" signs on Weld County Road 1 and
Larimer County Road 2, as detailed on the attached Exhibits, for the safety of
the general public, and that said signs must conform to the State manual and
specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 26th day of August, A.D. , 1991.
