the Ambulance Department. Since 1989, the Ambulance Department's Workers'
Compensation costs have gone from $19,884 in 1989 to $112 in 1992. The average
cost of an accident has gone from $1,326 to $12. Given the nature of the work
of our Ambulance Department employees, this is a significant accomplishment.
