Subject: SUP-113, located in the W2 SW4 SW4 of Section 22, T8N, R66W of the
6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado.
Dear Ms. Gova:
Department of Planning Services' staff has reviewed the recent inquiry concerning
a hog furrowing operation located in the SW4 of Section 22, TBN, R66W of the 6th
P.M. , Weld County, Colorado.
A resolution from the Board of County Commissioners dated August 27, 1969,
(enclosed) indicates this is an approved use on the 10 acre parcel. The owners
of the property sought to expand the use in 1971 from 325 sows to 600 sows. A
letter dated August 10, 1971, indicated the president of Northern Colorado Feeder
Pig Cooperative, Inc. , requested withdrawal of the expansion request (enclosed) .
The Board of County Commissioners, on September 7, 1971, denied the request to
expand the use.
After reviewing the available information, Department of Planning Services' staff
has determined that no more than 325 sows would be allowed at this location.
Apparently, the Board of County Commissioners has never initiated an action to
withdraw this use at this location. If the facility needs to expand, then a Use
by Special Review application would need to be submitted, reviewed and approved.
