RE: INCREASE IN INMATE MEAL COSTS FOR 1991
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on December 23 , 1985, the Board entered into a
Contract between Weld County, Colorado, and Service America
Corporation, for food services in the Weld County Jail, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff' s Office has forwarded to the Board a
request from Service America Corporation, asking for a 5% price
increase for the inmate meal costs for 1991, as well as a change
in the monthly payment procedure, explained in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto, and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable
to approve the 5% price increase and the change in monthly
procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that the 5% price increase
for the inmate meal costs for 1991, as well as the change in the
monthly payment procedure be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of
December, A.D. , 1990 .

Dear Commissioners:
Service America would like to submit for your approval the
1991 cost per meal scale for the inmate feeding program at
the Weld County Detention Facilitv . The Scale reflects a
5% price increase.

The prepayment plan will continue as it was in 1990. I
would , however , like to change the procedure for
Processing the monthly billings. Service America would
issue an invoice for one month of services.
This is estimated at $19 .000, Weld County would Pay this
immediately. This would go into a special account .
We would then issue regular monthly billings to Weld County.
These invoices would be paid in full as soon as they are
received . For the last month of the contract . Service America
would apply the $19 .000 oreoavment toward your last bill .
We would either charge Weld County for the balance due, or
issue a check: for any overpayment .

RE Increase in Inmate Meal Costs
Service America Corporation is asking for a 5% price increase for 1991.
This increase is to cover inflation only. In our budget request we put in a
7% increase in food service. Their request is 27 below the projected
amount. I would ask that you and the County Commissioners approve the price
increase. Also the changes in the monthly payment procedure that is
explained in the letter accompanying this memo to make the monthly payment
more equitable to Service America.
