- FROM CASTOR HANSEN & HELEN MARIE PURSE:
WHEREAS, Castor Hansen & Helen Marie Purse have executed a
Warranty Deed to Weld County for a rectangular parcel of land 1061
wide and 127+ long being the site of old "Fort St. Vrain" in Section
Twenty-six(26) Township Four (4) North, Range Sixty-seven (67) West
also a right of way for a public road 30" wide in said Section, aa[at to
to used for ingress and egress to said public monument.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by ac
Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that t6g/end the signers
of said deed for their gift to the public of this historic memorial.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that they accept this parcel, more particularly described in said deed
and dedicate same to the public.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote:

WARRANTY DEED
KNOW ALL MEN BY TiIESE PRESENTS, That we, CASTOR HANSEN
AND HELEN MARIE PURSE, of the City and County of Denver and
State of Colorado, for the consideration of Ten Dollars and
other valuable considerations in hand paid, hereby sell and
convey to COUNTY OF WELD IN TIE STATE OF COLORADO, the follow-
ing real property, situate in the County of Weld and State of
Colorado, to-wit:
A rectangular parcel of land 106 fent wide and 127 feet
long, marked nt the corners with concrete blocks, being the
site of old "Fort St . Vrain" , as shown on the plat of the Town
of Fort St. Vrain ( now vacated) , and being on a parcel of land
shown on said plat bordered on the North by Roubidoux Avenue ,
on the East by Gerrit; Place , on the South by Snrpny Avenue and
on the West by Kiowa Street, and, at the approximate center of
which is situate "Fort St . Vrain Monument" , erected in the year
1911 by Centennial State Chapter, Daughters of the American
Revolution, and being located in the Southeast quarter ( SEE )
of Section Twenty-six ( 26 ) , Township Four ( 4 ) North, Range
Sixty-seven ( 67 ) ',lest of the 6th P. Ii. ; the plat of Fort St.
Vrain being on file in the Office of the County Cleric and
Recorder of Weld County, Colorado ;
Together with a right of way for a public road 30 feet
wide, extending 15 feet on each side of the center line, more
particularly described as follows ; Beginning at the Southeast
corner of Section Twenty-six ( 26 ), Township Four ( 4 ) North, Range
Sixty-seven ( 67 ) West of the 6th P. I•I. , thence South 82 deg.
55 min. West 338.6 feet; thence North 85 dog. 53 min. West 216.8
feet; thence North 79 deg. 14 min . West 178 feet; thence North
40 deg. 52 HIM. West 958 feet; thence North 50 dog. 56 min. West
165. 4 feet; thence North 71 deg. 34 min. West 206. 8 feet; thence
North 15 deg. 06 win. East 106 feet, more or less, to the south
end of the rectangular parcel of land above described.
As a further consideration for this conveyance, the
COUNTY OF WELD IN THE STATE OF COLORADO, by accepting this deed
hereby dedicates and agrees to maintain said property as a per-
petual public monument, to be known as "Fort St. Vrain Monument" ,
to commemorate the location of Fort St. Vrain, built in the yenr
1837 by Col. Ceron St. Vrain, and the place where General Fremont
reorganized his historical exploring expedition on July 23,
1843, and the frontier post visited by Francis Parkman and Kit
Carson.
