HomeMy WebLinkAbout930086.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVAL OF THE COMPOSITION OF THE WELD COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE COMMITTEE ON DISPOSITION OF FORFEITED PROPERTY, PURSUANT TO SECTION 16-13-702(6) , C.R.S. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado Statutes and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, it is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Section 16-13-702, C.R.S. , mandates the creation of a committee for the disposition of forfeited property, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Sheriff's Office is a part of the Weld County Drug Task Force, and WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office desires to be part of the effective and efficient enforcement of Colorado drug laws within Weld County, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners and the Sheriff acknowledge that the most effective method of drug enforcement in Weld County is through the Weld County Drug Task Force, and WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to establish the Weld County Drug Task Force Committee on Disposition of Forfeited Property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, that: 1. The Weld County Drug Task Force Committee on Disposition of Forfeited Property be, and hereby is, established. 2. The single committee on disposition of forfeited property for Weld County shall consist of three members, as follows: A. , The District Attorney of the 19th Judicial District, or a designee thereof; B. The Chairman of the Weld County Drug Task Force, or a designee thereof; and C. One representative selected from the local governmental entities participating in the Weld County Drug Task Force. 2. The local government member of the committee shall be changed every two years. Selection of a new committee member shall be made from nominees submitted by the participating local governmental entities which do not currently have representation on the committee. For the purposes of this Resolution, "local government" shall be defined as local governmental entities which are funding agencies for law enforcement offices and/or departments that are members of the Weld County Drug Task Force. 930086 S/9-0-011 �� Page 2 RE: COMPOSITION OF COUNTY WIDE COMMITTEE 3. Any local government that is a funding agency for law enforcement offices and/or departments which is a member of the Weld County Drug Task Force may recommend to the committee on disposition of forfeited property any individual for service on said committee. Said recommendation shall be made no later than 60 days prior to the termination of each two year term. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 20th day of January, A.D. , 1993.
