SUBJECT: `WOld Age Pension Medical Fund
The 1957 Colorado Session Laws, Chapter 191, page 554, provide for
the setting up of the Medical Care Program for Old Age Pensioners as
soon as funds have accumulated for this purpose.
Effective January 20, the State Department began participating in
nursing hone care for Old Age Pension recipients. The county de-
partments of public welfare will request each month the estimated
funds necessary to cover payments to nursing homes.
The allotment to cover the estimated payments for nursing home care
will be sent to the county treasurer each month to be credited to the
Old Age Pension Fund. The county department will prepare a separate
payroll for nursing home care for the approval of the County Board of
Public Welfare. This payroll is for your use in issuing on the Old
Age Pension Fund to pay for care provided by nursing homes.
Very truly yours,
