Dear Commissioners :
I would like to inform you today of my intention to retire on
October 15, 1993 . I have mixed emotions about this decision
because I have thoroughly enjoyed the work that I have performed
for Weld County over the past sixteen-plus years . By retiring next
year, however, I feel I can still pursue some of my other lifetime
goals .
Because of the nature of the work in the County Attorney' s office,
particularly the many matters involving on-going and complex
litigation, it is my feeling that a substantial notice period is
necessary in order to allow for a smooth transition for my
successor.
It is my feeling that this notice period will allow me to finish
some of the matters that I am working on at this time and that I
deem important and would further allow adequate time for the Board
to conduct an unhurried search for a new County Attorney.
Be assured that I will do everything possible to ensure that the
transition will take place with no disruption to the Board or to
any of the divisions of Weld County government.
