RE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN AREA AGENCY ON AGING AND
RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Purchase of Services Agreement
between Weld County Area Agency on Aging and the Retired Senior Volunteer
Program, with the terms and conditions being as stated in said agreement, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said
agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Purchase of Services Agreement between Weld County
Area Agency on Aging and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program be, and hereby is,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and hereby is,
authorized to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 10th day of May, A.D. , 1993.

Purchase of Services Agreement
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 15th day of May, 1993 by and
between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld county, on behalf of the Weld County Division of Human
Resources ' Area Agency on Aging, hereinafter referred to as "AAA," and the
Retired Volunteer Program hereinafter referred to as "RSVP."
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, AAA develops and administers the Area Plan for a comprehensive and
coordinated system of services, and
WHEREAS, AAA desires to eliminate duplication of support services to
volunteers who are assigned by RSVP to the AAA Senior Nutrition Program and rural
Senior Aide Program, and
WHEREAS, RSVP and AAA desire to share the cost of insuring volunteers
participating in both programs,
NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed:
1. AAA volunteers will register as RSVP volunteers giving them
volunteer insurance coverage through the national volunteer
insurance carrier, CIMA Companies, Inc.
2. RSVP will pay that portion of the volunteer insurance premiums for
accident insurance and personal liability insurance.
3. AAA agrees to pay excess automobile liability insurance.
4. RSVP agrees to reimburse CIMA for the total amount annually in
accordance with CIMA insurance renewal guidelines.
5. AAA will reimburse RSVP upon receipt of a statement showing number
of volunteers registered under the automobile insurance plan and the
CIMA rate per volunteer.
6. RSVP understands that AAA is required to conduct periodic
evaluations of the activities conducted under this Agreement.
8. This Agreement may be terminated upon thirty (30) days written
notice by either party. This Agreement shall be terminated
immediately in the event of loss of funding to the Area Agency on
Aging.

first written above.

Enclosed for Board approval is an agreement between the Weld County Area
Agency on Aging and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program to eliminate
duplication of services by sharing the cost of volunteer insurance
coverage.
Under the terms of the agreement the past practice of both the Area Agency
on Aging and RSVP insuring their respective volunteers will be terminated.
All volunteers will register as RSVP volunteers and become insured by the
national volunteer insurance carrier, CIMA Company, Inc.
RSVP will pay for the accident and personal liability portion of the
insurance and the AAA will pay for the automobile portion of the coverage.
One payment will be made to CIMA saving the AAA approximately $600.00 per
year.
