HomeMy WebLinkAbout900374 RESOLUTION RE: DISMISS DANGEROUS BUILDING CITATION - VEGA AND SANTOS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Jesus and Octavio Vega and Maria Santos were issued a citation of dangerous building under the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and WHEREAS , said building was a fire damaged structure located on property owned by them and described as part of the SEe of Section 11 , Township 5 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, located at 2501 East 18th Street, Greeley, Colorado, and WHEREAS, this matter was considered at a meeting conducted on March 14 , 1990 , and continued to April 16 , 1990 , at which time it was continued to April 30, 1990 , for determination, and WHEREAS , on April 30 , 1990 , the Board received a recommendation from the Department of Planning Services that the violation no longer exists on this property; therefore, said citation should be dismissed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the citation for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings issued to Jesus and Octavio Vega and Maria Santos be, and hereby is, dismissed. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of April, A.D. , 1990 . CASE SUMMARY 12-22-89 Letter sent with citation of dangerous building under the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings. Fire damaged dangerous building ordered to be demolished by February 21 , 1990. Property owner waived appeal of order to demolish building by not responding within specified time period. 2-21-90 Property inspected. Demolition not completed. Rubble and other debris on property. 2-28-90 Property inspected. Photographs taken. Demolition not completed. 3-2-90 Notice of hearing sent. The Department of Planning Services' staff recommends that: 1. The Board authorize the demolition work to remove the remaining portions of the dangerous building and debris located on the property. 2. The Board solicit bids from private contractors for removing the remaining portions of the dangerous building and debris. 3. The Board set May 23, 1990, as the hearing date to consider recovering the cost of the demolition work by special assessment or a personal obligation of the property owner. Roberts V' NAME: Jesus & Octavio Vega & Maria Santos LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY: Pt. SE3 11-5-65 DATE: December 21, 1989 CASE NUMBER: BCV-1332 In inspected the property at the request of Western Hills Fire Department. Upon inspection of the property, I found the fire department putting out a fire on the steel building just east of the residence. The structure was totally demolished by fire. Some metal siding and metal roof trusses remain intact but warped and bent very bad.
