HomeMy WebLinkAbout911974.tiff HEARING CERTIFICATION DOCKET N0. 91-28 RE: PRELIMINARY HEARING TO CONSIDER CREATING LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - 83RD AVENUE A public hearing was conducted on May 8, 1991, at 10:00 A.M. , with the following present: Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy, Chairman Commissioner George Kennedy, Pro-Tem Commissioner Constance L. Harbert Commissioner C. W. Kirby Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison Engineering Department representative, Donald Carroll The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that a public hearing was conducted to consider creation of a local improvement district along 83rd Avenue, also known as Weld County Road 27. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this matter of record. Donald Carroll, Administrative Manager of the Engineering Department, said the area of 83rd Avenue to be included is between U.S. Highway 34 Business Route and "O" Street, also known as Weld County Road 64. He said it is proposed to construct a roadway with 12' driving lanes, 2' to 6' variable shoulders, and aggregate base course and shoulders. He said parcels 1, 2, and 3, are owned by Hall Irwin, and parcel 4 is owned by C & M Companies. The estimated cost of the paving is $124,640, preparation is $138,000, administrative is $10,000, with a total of $272,640. The cost to be assessed to the property owners is estimated to be $124,640. Mr. Carroll asked the Board if the bidding process could be initiated at this time. There was no public testimony offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Kirby asked if the bid would be only for the paving. Mr. Carroll said the majority of the bid would be for paving. Mr. Morrison said the Board should accept the draft Resolution declaring the intent to create a local improvement district. Commissioner Harbert moved the intent to create said District and adopt said Resolution, with a hearing to be set for June 19, 1991, at 10:00 a.m. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Webster, and carried unanimously. Commissioner Harbert also moved to initiate the bidding process immediately. Commissioner Kirby seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. This Certification was approved on the 13th day of May, 1991.
