RE: ASSESSMENT OF COST OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR WELD COUNTY 83RD AVENUE LOCAL
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 1991-1
A public hearing was conducted on November 20, 1991, at 9:00 A.M. , with
the following present:
Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy, Chairman
Commissioner George Kennedy, Pro-Tem - Excused
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner C. W. Kirby
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding
Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison
Director of Engineering, Drew Scheltinga
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated October 14, 1991, and
duly published October 17, 1991, in The New News, a public hearing was
conducted to consider the assessment of costs for the Weld County 83rd
Avenue Local Improvement District No. 1991-1. Lee Morrison, Assistant
County Attorney, made this a matter of record. He also noted that a
Notice of Hearing was mailed to both Hall-Irwin Construction Company and
C & M Companies on October 30, 1991. Drew Scheltinga, County Engineer,
said the project was completed August 22, 1991, at a total cost of
$147,152.93. He reviewed the proportionate share of each parcel, and the
proportionate cost to be assessed to each parcel. The total to be
assessed is $124,640.00. In response to a question from Chairman Lacy,
Mr. Scheltinga stated he does not have the final cost total for Weld
County. However, $138,000 was the estimate for preparing the base, etc. ,
and that amount was not exceeded. As far as the parcels are concerned,
Weld County's maximum responsibility will be for parcels 2 and 3. Parcel
3, however, may be paid by Hall-Irwin due to a separate agreement
regarding a mineral lease. No public comment was received concerning this
matter. Commissioner Kirby moved to approve the Resolution concerning the
assessment of costs for said district. Seconded by Commissioner Harbert,
the motion carried unanimously.
This Certification was approved on the 25th day of November, 1991.
