It was obvious that the decision to approve the permit was made prior to the hearing , and objections expressed to you were irrelevant. I hope you realize that more time , money and effort went into documenting our opposition to the permit than the Harmon' s spent getting your approval . All of our objections were based on statements made in the Harmon' s letter of application. How could you completely disregard the documented objections in favor of undocumented statements. In the planning hearing Mr. Harmon indicated he owned 9 horses , in your hearing he says he owns 15 horses, I wonder how many are his? As elected officials of Weld County, you are accountable for your decision. Being interested parties and long time voting Weld County residents you owe us an explanation on: 1 . How can you equate the proposed building as being compatible and consistent when it is so large that it will hold almost half of the barns in the subdivision. You were also given documentation showing that no where in Weld County is there a building near that size on such a small lot. 2 . How can you equate 1 , 2 or 3 horses used for pleasure on a 5-acre lot with 30 horses being bred, raised and trained for racing on a 7-acre lot? 3 . How could you be so arrogant as to completely disregard the objections of a majority of the surrounding property owners? 4 . Please explain how training race horses fits into agriculture. Horse racing is generally considered to be a commercial venture. PL0958 Sd Plut7y-' 940953 04/ `'7/L 1) ' 1 C ft.: PL.;14L 5 . We showed you how our area fits in with future growth from the south and how we fit into Broomfield' s comprehensive plan. Why was this given no consideration? 6 . A letter from the developer on original intent meant nothing not even a question, why? 7 . A letter from a real estate broker on future land values also had no impact on you, why? We do expect you will respond to these questions and concerns . We would also like a time frame on repairing the road. If you are still believing Mr. Harmon that there is nothing wrong with the road, I would invite you to come and see for yourself. In several areas the water has to run 6 inches deep before it can enter the bar ditch. We also believe the road should be oiled. Sincerely, " Marvin Hanel Mildred Hanel Hello
