RE: ACCEPT PORTIONS OF OLD STATE HIGHWAY 34 AS PART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM
- STATE HIGHWAY 34 PROJECT NO. CX-CY 03-0034-19
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State Highway 34 is part of the State Highway System, and
WHEREAS, a portion of State Highway 34 has been relocated in Weld County pursuant to
the requirements of State Highway 34 Project No. CX-CY-03-0034-19, and
WHEREAS, a portion of the old State Highway 34 from a point of intersection with the new
State Highway 34 east of Kersey and continuing east for approximately 1.25 miles has been
abandoned as a part of the State Highway System pursuant to the State Highway 34 Project, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Board that a portion of old State Highway 34 located east
of the relocated new State Highway 34 continuing until the culdesac as indicated on Drawing
Sheet 28, attached hereto and incorporated herein, a distance of approximately 6,600 feet, or 1.25
miles, more or less, should be included in the County Road System and should be designated as
Weld County Road 56.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the above described portion of old State Highway 34 remain public highway
and be included in the County Road System.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above described portion of old State Highway 34 be
designated as Weld County Road 56.
