RE: APPROVAL OF SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT ISSUED TO UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN
COLORADO, ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT/BLUE AND GOLD CLUB, FOR SEPTEMBER 10, 1994
FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 9:00 P.M., AND SEPTEMBER 11, 1994, FROM 11:00 A.M. TO
4:00 P.M., AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the University of Northern Colorado, Athletic Department/Blue and
Gold Club, presented to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, an application for a Special Events Permit for the sale of fermented
malt beverages, containing not more than 3.2% of alcohol by weight, for
consumption by the drink on the premises only, and
WHEREAS, said applicant has paid the sum of FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) to Weld
County, Colorado, pursuant to the laws providing therefore in payment for a
County Retail Permit for the sale of fermented malt beverages, containing not
more than 3.2% of alcohol by weight, for consumption by the drink on the premises
only, for an event scheduled for two days only on September 10, 1994 from 10:00
a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on September 11, 1994, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
outside the corporate limits of any town or city in the County of Weld at the
location described as follows:
Greeley -Weld County Airport, Greeley, Colorado 80632
WHEREAS, said applicant has also paid the sum of TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00)
to the Colorado Department of Revenue and has exhibited a State Special Events
Permit for the sale of fermented malt beverages, containing not more than 3.2%
of alcohol by weight, for consumption by the drink on the premises only.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, having examined said application and the other
qualifications of the applicant, does hereby grant Special Events Permit Number
94-11 to said applicant to sell fermented malt beverages, containing not more
than 3.2% of alcohol by weight, for consumption by the drink on the premises
only, only at retail at said location; and the Board does hereby authorize and
direct the issuance of said permit by the Chairman of the Board of County
Commissioners, attested to by the Clerk to the Board of Weld County, Colorado,
which permit shall be effective from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on September 10,
1994, and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 11, 1994, providing that said
place where the permittee is authorized to sell fermented malt beverages,
containing not more than 3.2% of alcohol by weight, for consumption by the drink
on the premises only, shall be conducted in strict conformity to all of the laws
of the State of Colorado and the rules and regulations relating thereto,
heretofore passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
and any violations thereof shall be cause for revocation of the permit.

THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO IN CONJUNCTION WITH IT'S
FUND-RAISING GROUP THE BLUE AND GOLD CLUB WOULD LIKE TO SPONSOR A
BEER TENT AT THE WELD COUNTY AIR FESTIVAL TO BE HELD AT THE
GREELEY-WELD COUNTY AIRPORT ON SEPTEMBER 10-11, 1994.
THE BLUE AND GOLD CLUB IS A BOOSTER GROUP WHOSE PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITY IS TO RAISE MONEY TOWARDS ATHLETIC GRANT-IN-AID.
THIS AID IS AWARDED TO OVER 250 STUDENT -ATHLETES EACH YEAR. THE
CLUB IS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO
AND ALL OF ITS FUNDS ARE DEPOSITED IN THE UNC FOUNDATION FOR USE.
THE BLUE AND GOLD CLUB HAS A VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS, MADE
UP OF LOCAL CITIZENS, THAT ORGANIZE THE ANNUAL FUND DRIVE AND ALL
OTHER SPECIAL FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES. THE CLUB HAS BEEN IN
EXISTENCE SINCE 1982 AND HAS OVER SIX HUNDRED MEMBERS WHO
ANNUALLY RAISE OVER $100,000 FOR THE ATHLETIC GRANT-IN-AID
PROGRAM.
ALL THE FUNDS RAISED ARE DEPOSITED WITH THE UNC FOUNDATION, WHOSE
• RECORDS ARE AUDITED ANNUALLY IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE, UNIVERSITY
AND NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION REGULATIONS.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there was presented for approval by the Greeley -Weld County Airport Authority,
a resolution to grant permission for the University of Northern Colorado Blue and Gold Club
to conduct 3.2% beer sales on airport premises during the Colorado Air Festival on
September 10 and 11, 1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Airport Commissioners hereby
grants permission for the University of Northern Colorado Blue and Gold Club to conduct
3.2% beer sales on airport premises during the Colorado Air Festival on September 10 and
11, 1994.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted on
the 21st day of July, 1994.
