Home My WebLink About930088.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE EXTENSION OF TERMINATION DATES OF VARIOUS PEST CONTROL DISTRICTS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, petitions were presented to the Board of County Commissioners requesting the extension of the termination dates of three pest control districts, which expired December 31, 1992, said districts are: Eaton-Ault Pest Control District (#6) Platte Valley Pest Control District (#5) Southeast Weld Pest Control District (#4) WHEREAS, a hearing was held before the Board on the 20th day of January, 1993, at or about 9:00 a.m. , concerning said request, and WHEREAS, it was determined by the Board, after hearing the evidence presented, that it is in the best interest of Weld County to extend the termination dates of the abovementioned districts to July 31, 1993. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that pursuant to Section 35-5-104(7), CRS, the termination dates of the abovementioned pest control districts be, and hereby are, extended from December 31, 1992 to July 31, 1993. Harbert, Chairman Commissioner W. H. Webster, Pro-Tem Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Betty Henson Assistant County Attorney, Bruce Barker Extension Department representative, Ron Broda The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated December 30, 1992, and duly published January 7, 1993, in the Windsor Beacon, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Eaton-Ault Pest Control District (#1) , Platte Valley Pest Control District (#6) , and Southeast Weld Pest Control District (#4) to extend their termination dates beyond December 31, 1992. Bruce Barker, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Ron Broda, Extension Services representative, entered the favorable recommendation of the Districts into the record as written. Mr. Broda noted that the numbers of the Districts were incorrect as stated on the Notice, and said that Eaton-Ault Pest Control District is #6, and Platte Valley Pest Control District is #5. Mr. Broda explained the termination date process. Discussion was held as to the legal requirements regarding the termination dates, the effects of Amendment One, and the future of the Districts. There was no public testimony. Commissioner Webster moved to extend the termination date of the three Pest Control Districts to July 1, 1993 in order to allow time for a work session to be held. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried unanimously. This Certification was approved on the 25th day of January, 1993.
