Dear Mr. Cunliffe:
Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice
that on June 4, 1991 , an application for renewal of a valid, existing permit
to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-81-028, by Coors Energy
Company, P.O. Box 467, Golden, Colorado 80402, was deemed complete for the
purposed of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act
and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
The applicant proposes to continue conducting surface coal mining operations
at the Keenesburg Mine which is located 7 miles north of Keenesburg, accessed
by Weld County Road 59. The permit area is within Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36,
Township 3 North, Range 64 West, 6th Prime Meridian, in Weld County.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute Quadrangle
maps "Klug Ranch" and "Tampa. " A copy of the application is available for
public inspection at the Town Hall in Keenesburg, Colorado. Written comments,
objections or requests for an informal conference on the application may be
submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Division, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado
80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments, objections or requests for an
informal conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00 p.m. , August 4, 1991 .

The Colorado Board of Land Commissioners has received the captioned
application for a mining lease on State lands. This application will
be scheduled for a hearing by the Board on March 13 , 1991 . All
responses are due by March 12 , 1991 . The meeting will be held in
Trinidad, Colorado
We are asking that you review this area, fill in the attached
questionnaire, and return it to us by the above date. Our purpose is
to provide you with information on matters presently before the Land
Board and to request your assistance in evaluating these requests.
The basic information as to this mineral recovery proposal is shown
on the questionnaire. Detailed information is not known at this time
but would be presented to other state and local governments in order
to acquire the necessary permits before operations could begin.
