RE: APPOINTMENT OF A TEMPORARY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ADVISORY TASK FORCE
TO IMPLEMENT THE WELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PLAN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, has
the duty and responsibility of administering the affairs of Weld County pursuant
to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, and
WHEREAS, the Board did, by Resolution dated September 25, 1991, approve the
Weld County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Plan pursuant to Section 23-3.5-605,
C.R.S. , in order to access funds in the Colorado State Emergency Medical Services
account, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Emergency Medical Services Plan provides that the
subsidy available to Weld County pursuant to Section 23-3.5-605, C.R.S. , will be
utilized to engage the services of an EMS Advisor subject to the supervision of
the Director of the Weld County Health Department. Said EMS Advisor's
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the development of
recommendations for the provision of County-wide physician advisor services for
Weld County EMT-B's, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners deems it proper to appoint
a Temporary Weld County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Task Force for the
specific purpose of assisting the Director of the Weld County Health Department
and the EMS Advisor in the development of a recommendation to the Board of County
Commissioners for the provision of County-wide physician advisor services for
Weld County EMT-B's.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Temporary Weld County Emergency
Medical Services Advisory Task Force shall be established this date with
membership consisting of the following representatives:
1. The Director of the Weld County Health Department.
2. The Director of the Weld County Ambulance Service.
3. A representative from the Tri-Area Ambulance Service.
4. A representative from the Platte Valley Fire Protection District.

5. A representative from the Air-Life Helicopter Service of the North
Colorado Medical Center.
6. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the northeast part of Weld County.
7. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the northwest part of Weld County.
8. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the southeast part of Weld County.
9. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the southwest part of Weld County.
10. The Chief of the City of Greeley Fire Department or his designee.
11. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department
chosen at-large.
12. Dr. Jeff Schwartz, physician advisor to the Weld County Ambulance
Service.
13. EMS Coordinator for the Emergency Services Division of Aims
Community College.
Representation by fire protection districts/fire departments shall be
determined by vote of the fire protection district/fire department of each
respective geographical location including the designation of an at-large
representative.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Temporary Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Task Force be, and hereby is, appointed for a term to expire on January
31, 1992.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Temporary Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Task Force be, and hereby is, appointed for the specific purpose of
assisting the Director of the Weld County Health Department and the Emergency
Medical Services Advisor in the development of recommendations for the provision
of County-wide physician advisor services for the Weld County EMT-B's. The
Temporary Emergency Medical Services Advisory Task Force shall meet at such times
and places as necessary to accomplish this specific purpose.
