Schuett : With reference to our conversation in your office this afternoon , this is to notify you of a change in our proposal for installation of a standby power generator at our tower site near Frederick . My original proposal called for an above ground diesel fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 300 gallons . This was based on information I had been given by the company that sold us the equipment . I have since learned that the tank is a nominal 500 gallon capacity ( usually this means the actual capacity is slightly larger , but with a maximum of 550 gallons ) . The dimensions of the tank are 48 inches in diameter and 694 inches long . There are no other changes in our proposal , other than the overflow pit was increased in size to accommodate the additional tank capacity . I hope this will not cause any problem in the issuance of the building permits as we would like to begin work on Monday . ci.ncerPly , David W . Schuett : As we discussed on the telephone Tuesday , EDIT is planning to install an emergency power generator at our tower site east of Frederick , Colorado . The unit we have purchased is a Caterpillar model D330 55 kw diesel generator . Enclosed is the information you requested Pertaining to the proposed installation . I ' m sorry it took so long to get this to you but I was waiting for additional documentation from Caterpillar . The first page attached is a site drawing of our tower facility . I have drawn in the proposed building with appropriate dimensions . The fuel tank will be installed on an extension of the slab to the west of the building . The tank will have a maximum capacity of 300 gallons . After consulting with Mr . Roger Vigil of your inspection department and Mr . Chuck Schultz of the state oil inspection office we propose to construct a dirt catch basin surrounded by a dirt berm of sufficient size to hold the contents of the tank . The existing security _fence will be moved approximately seven feet further north to accommodate the new structure . The second page attached is a drawing provided by Caterpillar showing the general layout of the installation . While this drawing shows an enclosure of wood frame construction , at this time we plan to use a pre -fabricated steel storage type building for our installation . The cLea LaLdr control 2nnol ( and transfer switch ) shown on this drawing will be located in the existing maiYl The third page contains photographs of a typical installation of this unit . The purpose of this installation is to provide backup power in the event of an REA power failure . This is important not only so KDHT can maintain service to the Greeley-Denver area , but also to provide power for the obstruction lighting on our 1165 ' tower in the event of an extended outage .
