RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 10 AT
WELD COUNTY ROAD 47
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, "Yield" signs are currently in place on Weld County Road 10 at its
intersection with Weld County Road 47, requiring those persons traveling east and
west on Weld County Road 10 to yield to traffic proceeding north and south on
Weld County Road 47, and
WHEREAS, according to a traffic study done by the Weld County Department
of Public Works on September 21, 1994, the average daily traffic count on Weld
County Road 10 east of its intersection with Weld County Road 47 is 71, and the
average daily traffic count on Weld County Road 47 north of its intersection with
Weld County Road 10 is 155, and
WHEREAS, at the intersection of Weld County Roads 10 and 47 there is
located a house and various trees on the southwest corner which limit the sight
distance for vehicles traveling east on Weld County Road 10 and vehicles
traveling north on Weld County Road 47, and
WHEREAS, given the average daily traffic count on the two roadways and the
sight distance problem at the intersection, "Stop" signs are necessary to stop
the east and west traffic on Weld County Road 10 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 47, to ensure safety to the traveling public and in accordance with
the provisions of Section 2B-5 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices,
as adopted by Section 42-4-501, CRS, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are
necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that "Stop" signs shall be installed for the east and west
traffic on Weld County Road 10 at its intersection with Weld County Road 47, as
shown in the attached plat map.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Department of Public Works be,
and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead" signs in the approximate
locations as shown on the attached plat map and in accordance with the provisions
of Section 2C-15 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of October, A.D. , 1994, nunc pro
tunc September 20, 1994.
