RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP" AND "STOP AHEAD" SIGNS ON WELD COUNTY ROAD
22 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 11
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineering Department has recommended to the
Board that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be installed on Weld County Road 22 at
Weld County Road 11, to insure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic devices are necessary
for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Engineering be, and hereby is, directed
to install "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 22 at Weld County
Road 11, for the safety of the general public, and that said signs must conform
to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 27th day of July, A.D. , 1992.

Dear County Commissioners:
We the surrounding neighbors, are writing to request a 4-way stop
sign for the intersection of Weld County Road 11 and Weld County
Road 22 located just 1 mile south and 1 mile east of the Del Camino
intersection near Longmont.
Please send us whatever information or paperwork is necessary to
implement this process, be it legal petitions or setting a meeting
date to go before the commissioners, etc. We the surrounding
neighbors, have discussed the need amongst ourselves and are in
agreement on initiating this process.
In addition to the increase in traffic from the growing development
at the DelCamino, this area has recently become more populated with
residential dwellings. There are around a dozen elementary aged
children at play here and there will be several bus stops being
made in this area this coming fall.
We feel this intersection is very dangerous because of the trees
that partially block visibility of oncoming traffic; and also
because of the amount, the speed, and the type of vehicles that
race down Roads 11 and 22 .
There are many vehicles of all descriptions including the school
buses that travel at very unsafe speeds right through this
intersection without so much as a pause. Adding to this situation
there are occasionally livestock that get out of their fences and
pose a real danger to the people who drive at such high speeds down
the gravel roads.
We, the residents surrounding this intersection, feel that a 4-way
stop here will prevent some very serious accidents. Please
consider our request immediately.
