APPOINTING JOHN D. EDMISTON
TRUSTEE WELD COUNTY LIBRARY:
Commissioner Andersen offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS , The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado appointed
John D. Edmiston as Trustee of the Board of Trustees of Weld County Library on April 23 ,
1947 for a term of three years beginning May 1, 1947, and
WHEREAS , John D. Edmiston has been a very valuable member of said Board and the
Board of Commissioners and others desire his further appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado that John D. Edmiston of Greeley, Colorado be and he is hereby appointed
as Trustee of the Board of Trustees for Weld County Public Library for a term of five years
beginning May 1 , 1950.

AUTHORIZING COUNTY TREASURER
a TO INVEST FUNDS:
WHEREAS, is is provided by Chapter 45. Section 143 Colorado Statutes Annotated
and acts amendatory thereto , and by Chapter 176, Section 126, 1935 Colorado Statutes
Annotated and acts amendatory thereto, that the Board of County Commissioners by written
resolution may authorize the County Treasurer to invest all or a part of the funds and
moneys coming into his possession by virtue of his office as County Treasurer in certain
securities therein designated , and
WHEREAS, Harold H. Seaman, as County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado has in
his hands as part of the "Hospital Building Fund" a sum in excess of $200,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED, that Harold H. Seaman, as County Treasurer of
Weld County, Colorado, be and he is hereby authorized to invest and retain for the benefit
of the said "Hospital Building Fund" a part of said funds in his hands as County Treasurer
by the purchase of securities and in the amount and price as follows, to-wit :
UNITED STATES TREASURY BILL dated April 20, 1950 and maturing
August 20, 1950, to cost $ 199,412.00 maturity value to
be $ 200,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the United States Treasury Bill herein authorized
to be purchased , shall immediately be delivered to the Trust Department of the Colorado
National Bank, Denver, Colorado, Trust # 6393 for safekeeping for Harold H. Seaman, County
Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado.
The above and foregoing resolution was , on motion duly made and seconded , adopted
by the following vote :

COVERING LOTS IN STONEHAM,
BUCKINGHAM AND KEOTA:
WHEREAS, C. L. Witt has presented this Board with oil & Gas leases covering all
Lots in Buckingham, Stoneham and Keota on which the County has or has reserved the oil, gas
& mineral rights, and
WHEREAS, the Board has accepted said offer at the rate of 500 per acre.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado that they sign oil & gas leases with C. L. Witt covering lots in Keota,
Buckingham and Stoneham, for the amounts set forth in said leases and in accordance with
the terms and conditions contained in said leases, copies of which are hereto attached and
made a part of this resolution.

AUTHORIZING DUPLICATE WARRANT
TO BE ISSUED FLORENCE M. BOWLES:
WHEREAS, Road Warrant, Series P No. 51920, dated April 12, 1948, drawn on the
Road Fund in the amount of Six Dollars ($6.00) payable to Florence M. Bowles , 3428 Bryant
Street, Denver, Colorado, has not been received by her and has not been presented for
payment in the office of the County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, satisfactory bond and affidavit, necessary to indemnify and save the
County harmless on account of alleged loss of original warrant, have been filed in the
office of the Board of County Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Clerk of the Board be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to cause a duplicate warrant to be issued in favor of Florence M. Bowles in the amount of
Six Dollars ($6.00)

WHEREAS, RAY REED, of Weld County, Colorado, has presented to the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County his application for a County Retail license for sale
of 3.2% beer only, and The said applicant, having paid to the County Treasurer of Weld
County the sum of Fifty Dollard ($50.00) therefor, and having produced a state retail
license for sale of 3.2% beer only, outside the corporate limits of any town or city in
the County of Weld , at the location described as follows :
dba RAY REED'S CAFE 1st Avenue & 18 Street, Greeley, Colorado
And the County Commissioners , having examined the said application and the other
qualifications of the applicant do hereby grant a license to said applicant to sell 3.2% beer
only at retail, at said place , and do hereby authorize and direct the issuance or said license
by the Chairman of the Board , attested by the County Clerk and Recorder of Weld county, good
for one year from the date of issue unless revoked , according to law, provided , however , that
said license shall be issued upon the express condition and agreement that the place where
licensee is authorized to sell beer under said license will be conducted instrict conformity
to all laws of the State of Colorado and rules and regulations relating thereto heretofore
passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado and any violation thereof
shall be cause for revocation of the license.

Commissioner Hanson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, Weld County, Colorado has acquired , by Treasurer 's Deed dated December
23, 1947 and recorded in Book 1217 at Page 485 in the records of the County Clerk and
Recorder of Weld County, Colorado, and is the owner of
Lots 17-18, Block 15 Briggsdale
WHEREAS, said property, excepting therefrom the oil, gas and other minerals
therein, has been duly advertised for sale at a public auction held on June 12, 1950
At the hour of 1 :30 o 'clock, P. M. , in the office of the Board of County Commissioners
and :
WHEREAS, at said sale, Vernon D. Kremer, Brigesdale , Colorado bid $ 10.00 as
the purchase price for said property and , being the highest and best bidder, said
property was sold to said Vernon D. Kremer.
NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby ordered that Harold H. Seaman,
County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado, is hereby constituted and appointed as
Commissioner of Weld County, Colorado, to make a conveyance , by quit claim deed , of said
property, as aforesaid , to said Vernon D. Kremer, which property is more particularly
described as follows, to-wit:
Lots 17-18, Block 15, Brigr'sdale
except reservations in favor of the Union Pacific Railroad Company and except reservations
in the United States Patent and reserving existing reservior sites and irrigation ditches,
if any, existing rights of way for public highways and roads, and to any and all existing
easements or rights of way, however evidenced or acquired , and subject to existing leases
and reserving therefrom, to grantor, all oil, gas and other minera] s therein or thereunder.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that to such conveyance, the Said Harold H. Seaman is
authorized to affix the seal of said County and said conveyance , when executed according
to this order , shall have the effect to transfer to said Vernon D. Kremer all right, title
and interest which Weld County has in and to the above described property, except only and
subject to the exceptions and reservations hereinabove mentioned or referred to. The

of the Statue of Liberty and wish to present same to the people of Weld County, Colorado.

County, Colorado that they do hereby provide a site for the erection of said statue on the
northeast corner of the Court House lawn and hereby accept same for and on behalf of the
people of Weld County, Colorado.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Long 's Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America
be commended for this patriotic action, and

said road described herein, be vacated , abandoned and closed , has been presented to The
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, after full investigation and consideration, it appears that this road
is not used , that it has not been maintained by the County for a long time , that no one
will be injured by such closing and the necessities of the public no longer require a
road between said Sections 22 and 27, T2, R65 W.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED and it is here ordered that the road between

and for the purpose of adjusting assessments so as to equalize the same among the several

value and state what is a just assessment thereon compared with other like property, such

Beginning at once , you shall have permission to use the big horse barn at Island
Grove Park for the stabling, feeding and care of horses owned by you; provided , however ,
• and on the condition that you shall pay to Weld County Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per
month, payable monthly in advance , shall pay all bills for electric current used by you,
that you will properly care for and maintain said buildings, fences, all water pipes and
equipment, in as good condition as they row are and will repair all damage (not including
fire losses otherwise covered and insured) done by you, your agents or employees and by
horses stabled therein by you, and will properly clean said barns and will not permit
manure to accumulate or be piled against any wall or partition or stall thereof or therein.
You may permit the use of said barns by other horse owners approved by you but
you shall be responsible for them and for any breach of the above conditions by them or
their horses.
It is expressly stipulated and agreed that your occupancy, except tack room, shall
be subject to the use of the Greeley Fourth of July Committee and Junior Fair.
This permit may be terminated and cancelled by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County at any time on thirty (30) days notice, mailed to you at Greeley, Colorado, and
may be terminated by you at any time on showing to said Board that said premises are in as
good condition as when received and have been properly cleaned.

September 17, 1935, covering use of Railroad Company' s right of way for highway purposes
near Peckham, Colorado; said agreement being identified as Railroad Company's C. D. No. 21155-C;

WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, has said
proposed agreement before it and has given it careful review and consideration; and
WHEREAS, it is considered that the best interests of said County of Weld , State of
Colorado, will be subserved by the acceptance of said agreement :

dedication by resolution at its meeting June 26, 1950, and
WHEREAS, said dedication provides that should the strip be vacated as a street
or cease to be used for such public highway, title shall revert to the County for the
use of Weld County Public Hospital.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of

v October 6, 1930, covering the leasing to the County for highway purposes certain portions
of the Railroad Company' s right of way in Weld County, Colorado; said agreement being iden-
tified as Union Pacific Railroad Company's C.D. No. 109360-F; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, has
said proposed agreement before it and has given it careful review and consideration; and
WHEREAS, it is considered that the best interests of said County of Weld , State
of Colorado, will be subserved by the acceptance of said agreement:

qualifications of the applicant do hereby grant a license to said applicant to sell 3.2%
beer only at retail, at said place, and do hereby authorize and direct the issuance of said
license by the Chairman of the Board , attested by the County Clerk and Recorder of Weld
County, good for one year from the date of issupunless revoked , according to law, provided ,
however , that said license shall be issued upon the express condition and agreemert that the
place where licensee is authorized to sell beer under said license will be conducted instrict
conformity to all laws of the State of Colorado and rules and regulations relating thereto
heretofore passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado and any
violation thereof shall be cause for revocation of the license.

WHEREAS , Victor Seidenberg, of Weld County, Colorado , has presented to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County his application for a County Retail license for sale
of 3.2% beer only and the said applicant, having paid to the County Treasurer of Weld County
the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) therefor, and having produced a state retail license for
sale of 3.2% beer only, outside the corporate limits of any town or city in the County of
Weld , at the location described as follows :
dba Vic ' s Drive Inn, 2501-8 Avenue , Greeley, Colorado
And the County Commissioners , having examined the said application and the other

SETTING RATE OF PAY FOR PAY
PATIENTS AT ISLAND GROVE
HOSPITAL AT $150.00 per Month:
Commissioner Andersen offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS pay patients at Island Grove Hospital are now the rate previously set
by the Board of $80.00 per month, and
WHEREAS, the cost of maintenance of the Hospital has steadily risen for some time
and because this class of patients require the maximum of care.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that on and after this date, the rate of pay for Care and Keep for pay
patients at Island Grove Hospital be and hereby is set at $150.00 per month.
The resolution was seconded by Commissioner Hanson and adopted by the following vote :
