RE: APPROVAL TO DEFER THE LONG TERM LEASE OF LAND WITHIN THE WELD COUNTY
BUSINESS PARK TO THE NATIONAL GUARD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NATIONAL
GUARD ARMORY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, representatives of the Colorado National Guard have expressed a
desire to develop a National Guard Armory facility to replace the existing
facility located within the Weld County Business Park PUD, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Commissioners support efforts of the Colorado
National Guard to secure authorization and funding of a new armory facility in
the Greeley area, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to commit financial support by
supplying a long term lease to the Colorado National Guard to assist in the
preparation of design documents for a new armory facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that:
1. The County of Weld, Colorado, hereby extends the
offering of a portion of Tract B of the Weld County
Business Park PUD (most northeastern ten acres of Tract
B) to the Colorado National Guard on a long term lease
of fifty-two (52) years in duration to be used as the
site for development and construction of a new armory
facility for the Colorado National Guard.
2. Upon receipt of notification by the County of Weld,
Colorado, of the acceptability of the above described
property by the Colorado National Guard, the County
Attorney is instructed to prepare the appropriate lease
documents for such property.
3. The lease documents shall subsequently be presented to
the Weld County Commissioners for authorization of a
lease agreement.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
