RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR ROAD
MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT - WASTE MANAGEMENT OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution on October 14, 1992, the Board did approve a Site
Specific Development Plan and Special Review Permit for a solid waste disposal
site and facility in the A (Agricultural) Zone District for Waste Services
Company, and
WHEREAS, Condition of Approval #3(b) requires the approval of an off-site
road maintenance and improvements agreement to be approved within six months of
the abovementioned approval date, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a request for extension of time
for said road maintenance agreement to be approved, and
WHEREAS, a hearing before the Board was held on June 30, 1993, at which
time the Board deemed it advisable to allow said extension to July 31, 1993, to
allow Waste Management of Colorado adequate time to consider suggestions made by
the County Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the request for extension of time until July 31, 1993, to
present a road maintenance agreement for approval be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of June, A.D. , 1993.

Dear Mr. Morrison:
Confirming our discussion today, Waste Management of Colorado is seeking a further extension
until July 31, 1993 to complete the Road Maintenance Agreement with the County.
This extension will allow additional time to consider Mr. Scheltinga's suggestion that we
consider the possibility of delaying the overlay until 12 to 18 months after the facility
commences operations. Now that the engineering work has been performed, we will be able to
evaluate the alternatives.
Please let me know the County's decision on this extension request at your earliest convenience.
