Dear Commissioner Harbert:
The Department of Social Services has received your letter of April 12th
regarding Weld County's billing for the subsidy costs of social services
programs. Karen Beye has asked that I respond on her behalf in this matter.
Based upon an agreement with Weld County, the Governor's Office, the Office of
State Planning and Budgeting, the Colorado Department of Social Services (CDSS)
and the Attorney Generals Office, the CDSS will hold this billing and any future
billings, pending resolution of the issues related to the return of social
services programs to the state and the county's responsibility for the twenty per
cent share of social services costs.
