RE: APPROVE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION OF MISCELLANEOUS WEAPONS, AMMUNITION, AND
DETECTION EQUIPMENT TO WELD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND COURT SYSTEM BY
PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Public Service Company of Colorado has donated miscellaneous
weapons, ammunition, and detection equipment to the Weld County Sheriff's Office
and Court system, and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of Weld County to formally accept all donations
via resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the donation of miscellaneous weapons, ammunition, and
detection equipment by Public Service Company of Colorado be, and hereby is,
accepted and designated for use by the Weld County Sheriff's Department and Court
system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that a copy of this Resolution, along
with a letter of appreciation, be forwarded to Public Service Company of
Colorado.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 22nd day of July, A.D. , 1992.

Commissioners:
As you are aware, the Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station has
recently completed the process of shipping spent nuclear fuel to a
licensed Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation located near
the plant. In accordance with Federal Regulations, the need for an
on site, armed security force is no longer required resulting in
some surplus equipment being available.
I would like to offer the equipment listed on the enclosure to you
for use by the Sheriff' s Office and Court System as a token of our
appreciation for all the time and effort extended by the Weld
County organizations over the life time of the plant. Special
thanks should be extended to Sheriff Jordan, Capt. Workman,
Lt. Fliethman, and Ed Herring for their continued support of the
program in addition to their routine duties.
All of this equipment is used and will not carry warranty and must
be accepted as is, without liability being incurred by Public
Service Company of Colorado.
Should you approve this donation, I will arrange to transfer
ownership of those items listed on the attachment to the County in
accordance with your directions. I have provided approval
signature lines for your convenience.
Again, Public Service Company of Colorado and especially the
security staff at Fort St. Vrain thank you and the Weld County
staff for their many years of excellent service and support.
