PRESS RELEASE
At its August 17, 1994, meeting the Weld County Council declared the At-Large position
held by Barbara Janda as officially vacant. The Council moved to not appoint someone to the
vacant At-Large position, but to let the vacancy be filled during the November elections
process according to elections procedures of the Weld County Clerk & Recorder's office.
The vacated At-Large position will be listed on the General Election ballot as a two-year
term. This position is in addition to the other announced Council positions: one (1) At-Large,
four-year term; one (1) in Commissioner District I, four-year term; one (1) in Commissioner
District III, four-year term.
Petitions for the vacated two-year At-Large position require at least 200 signatures of
registered electors residing in the County and can be obtained at the Elections Department of
the Clerk & Recorder which is located at 1402 N. 17th Avenue in Greeley. Candidates must
specify which At-Large position — two-year term or four-year term --for which they are running
when filing with the Clerk and Recorder's office. The last day to file is September 9, 1994 by
4:30 p.m.
