RE: Follow up and amendments to letter dated Septemi
1989. Richard Blundell sold the property to Kerry Hill
Farms , c/o Sean Conklin .
Dear Mr . Schuett:
Most of the area has moderate limitation for local roads due
to low soil strength . When doing shallow excavations care
should be used as some of these soils have a potential for
cutbank caving .
Amendment 1— Regarding erosion control , it is my
understanding after lengthy discussion with Mr . Conklin that
it is not feasible or save to grass the sprint field .
Apparently the dogs require a soft, smooth surface to run or
they can break toes and permanently impair their ability to
run . Mr. Conklin is aware of the need to protect the sprint
field from erosive winds . He is willing to string slatted
or woven snow fence on the northwest sides to provide
protection until a permanent windbreak can be established .
Roads and heavy use areas should be gravelled to reduce
potential erosion .
Regarding reclamation , in case of cessation of use for this
purpose , the area should be seeded to adapted species of
grass and the site maintained until the grass stand is
established , not necessarily returned to its former state .
Mr. Conklin indicated that he plans to establish a windbreak
around the farm for both noise reduction , visual
improvement, and wind protection . Should he request
additional assistance we will provide him with
recommendations on tree species , spacing and drip irrigation
recommendations .
Sincerely ,
Sylvia Gillen
