PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS public health nurses have provided significant
contributions to the health care of the nation's citizens of all ages,
genders, and creeds for one hundred years;
WHEREAS public health nurses provide care in client's homes, in
clinics, in local health departments, and in other sites in the
community;
WHEREAS public health nurses collaborate with the individual,
family, and community to identify environmental, social, and personal
health factors affecting health;
WHEREAS public health nurses provide education, preventive
services, and direct care of the ill and injured
WHEREAS public health nurses' skills and specialized knowledge
improve the health of the community as a whole;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that April 16, 1993 be declared Public
Health Nursing Day in the County of Weld in honor of the centennial
celebration of public health nursing practice in the United States.
