RE: PROPOSED GREELEY-WELD COUNTY AIRPORT MASTER PLAN
A public hearing was conducted on April 12, 1990, at 7:00 P.M. with the
following present:
Weld County Commissioners:
Commissioner Gene R. Brantner, Chairman
Commissioner George Kennedy, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner C.W. Kirby
Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy
Greeley City Council Members:
Mayor Willie Morton
Councillor Bernard Kinnick
Councillor Nancy Brigden
Councillor Kenneth Crumb
Councillor Peter Boer
Councillor David Werking
Councillor David Plasters
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Tommie Antuna
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice duly published April 4,
1990, in the Greeley Tribune, and in The New News on April 5, 1990, a
public hearing was conducted jointly by the Weld County Commissioners
and the Greeley City Council to consider the Greeley-Weld County
Airport Master Plan and the closure of certain portions of Weld County
Roads 64 and 62 (Bliss Road.) Those giving presentations and answering
questions concerning the proposed Master Plan were: Bum Carter, Dick
Farr, Mark Hinze, and Fred Jaeger. Coming forward to answer further
questions were Greg Isbill and Neil Rood.
Let the record reflect that a ten minute break was called at this time.
Upon reconvening, public comments were offered by Dennis Roberts, Ward
McMurdo, Rick Coulson, Randall Knutson, John Warrender, Jerry Winters,
Robert Anderson, Richard Bucknell, Bob Kelly, Marvin Bay, Wayne Howard,
Wayne White, Michael Fleming, John Kinkade, Larry Campbell, and Bob
Noffsinger, Jr.
Some of the concerns expressed by the public were safety factors,
displacement of families, closing of roads, cost of maintenance in the
future, and possibility of decline of training.
At the conclusion of public comments, Chairman Brantner declared
testimony closed and this matter will be considered at the regular
meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on Monday, April 16, at
9:00 a.m. and the City of Greeley Council meeting on Tuesday, April 17,
at 7:30 p.m.
This hearing was adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
