HomeMy WebLinkAbout940780 RESOLUTION RE: DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO WELD COUNTY SHERIFF TO ENTER INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT SPECIAL DUTY AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Sheriff has recently received many requests for law enforcement special duty agreements whereby the Weld County Sheriff's Office, through its off-duty officers, provides additional security for special events, and WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has required all parties desiring to obtain such special services to enter into agreements with the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, which agreements spell out the various rights and duties of the involved parties, and WHEREAS, pursuant to § 30-11-107(l) (aa) , C.R.S. , the Board of County Commissioners has the authority to delegate its power to enter into such agreements pursuant to policies and procedures set by the Board regarding agreements of this type, and WHEREAS, the Board now desires to delegate authority to enter into certain law enforcement special duty agreements to the Weld County Sheriff in order to increase the efficiency of completing such law enforcement services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that pursuant to § 30-11-107(1) (aa) , C.R.S. , the authority to enter those law enforcement special duty agreements which are estimated to require 72 or fewer hours of Sheriff's deputies' time is hereby delegated to the Weld County Sheriff, beginning with any such agreements submitted to the Sheriff's Office after the date of signing of this Resolution.
