On February 7, 1990, the Board of Weld County Commissioners
considered your petition for tax abatement and denied same.
Pursuant to Section 39-2-125 (F) , C.R.S. , you have the right to
appeal this decision to the State Board of Assessment Appeals
within thirty days. Ycu may obtain the appropriate forms and
instructions from the Board of Assessment Appeals , Department of
Local Affairs, 1313 Sherman Street - Room 420, Denver, Colorado
80203 .

RE: Tax Abatement request for Horse Pasture Schedule R 3920186
The land that is being taxed is in the flood plain. It is quite close to the
South Platte River. I can Not build a house out there because of flood waters.
I hired an engineering company who said I'd have to haul in enough dirt to build
the site up six (6) feet. This is impossible. I use the land strickly as pasture.
I keep a saddle horse or a calf or two out there.
Last summer I had planned on coming to talk to the assessor about the tax notice.
But I was buzy at work and simplely did not get in. I work for Weld Co. Social Services
and we were buzy with a computer conversion from one program to another. Every time
I'd start down to see the assessor something would go wrong at work and I simplely
never made it down. I didn't worry about it too much because I thought they couldn't
raise the pasture taxes that much any way.
I never dreamed that the taxes could raise from $250.00 to $845.00
I respectfully request an abatement with this situtation.
