RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF BRUCE T. BARKER AS COUNTY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has selected Bruce T. Barker as
the County Attorney based upon the recruitment and selection process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Bruce T. Barker be, and hereby is, appointed as County
Attorney, effective April 16, 1993, to serve at the pleasure of the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Mr. Barker shall be compensated
at the rate of $66, 941.00 per year.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 22nd day of March, A.D. , 1993.

Subject: Appointment of County Attorney
The Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce
Barker as the Weld County Attorney. Bruce has worked in the County Attorney's
Office as an assistant for over 9 years. He has a Law degree and a Business
Finance degree from the University of Colorado. The Board is confident that Mr.
Barker will be a strong addition to Weld County Government's management team.
Mr. Barker will be appointed County Attorney effective April 16, 1993. Tom David
will remain as special counsel on an as needed basis for an approximate six month
period to assure a smooth transition of all county legal matters. Mr. David has
been County Attorney since July 1, 1976. His experience, abilities, and
qualities will be missed by this Board as well as the citizens of Weld County.
