RE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECT TO REPLACE WELD COUNTY
BRIDGE#50/67A-FLOOD PLAINS AND WETLANDS NOTICE
A public hearing was conducted on November 7, 1994, at 9:00 a.m.,with the following present:
Commissioner W. H.Webster, Chairman
Commissioner Dale K. Hall, Pro-Tern
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirlcmeyer
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D.Warden
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated October 24, 1994, and duly published October 27,
1994, in the Windsor Beacon, a public hearing was conducted concerning a Community
Development Block Grant Project to replace Weld County Bridge#50/67A. Don Warden, Director
of Finance and Administration, made this a matter of record and stated the site is near Kersey and
Bridge#50/67A services the National Hog Farm operation. He explained this hearing is necessary
because of the location being in a flood plain, and public Input is being requested to discuss
alternatives to this project and secure public perceptions of possible adverse impacts that could
result from the project, as well as possible mitigation measures. Mr. Warden stated the Public
Works Department found no practical alternatives to this project and did not identify any adverse
impacts. There was no public input offered on this matter. Mr. Warden advised the Board the
proper action is to direct the publication of Docket No. 94-77A,"Notice of Explanation and Intent to
Participate',which details the County's intent to proceed and states failure to provide the new bridge
would result in the continued unsafe and inadequate access to a large business in the area.
Commissioner Hall moved to direct Clerk to the Board to publish Docket No. 94-77A. Seconded by
Commissioner Kirkmeyer,the motion carried unanimously.
This Certification was approved on the 9th day of November, 1994.
