RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF MIKE GUTHRIE AND RATIFY REAPPOINTMENTS OF GEORGE
WARD, RON WOOD, AND MIKE MILLER TO WELD 911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE
AUTHORITY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, vacancies currently exist on the Weld 911 Emergency Telephone
Service Authority Board, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Mike Guthrie be appointed to said
board to replace John Michaels as law enforcement representative, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that the Board ratify the reappointments
of George Ward, City of Fort Lupton representative, Ron Wood, City of Greeley
representative, and Mike Miller, Sheriff's Office representative, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Mike Guthrie and to ratify
the reappointments of George Ward, Ron Wood, and Mike Miller to said board, with
their terms to expire January 11, 1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Mike Guthrie be, and hereby is, appointed to the Weld 911
Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board, with his term to expire January 11,
1994.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the reappointments of George Ward,
Ron Wood, and Mike Miller be, and hereby are ratified, with their terms to expire
January 11, 1994.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 3rd day of February, A.D. , 1992.

Please add the following to the Board's Monday, February 3, 1992, agenda:
Weld 911 Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board
George Ward has been selected again by the Ft. Lupton City Council as the City
of Ft. Lupton representative. His term will expire 01/11/94. His appointment
needs to be ratified.
Ron Wood has been selected again by the Greeley City Council as the City of
Greeley representative. His term will expire 01/11/94. His appointment needs
to be ratified.
Mike Miller has been selected again by the County Sheriff. His term will expire
01/11/94. His appointment needs to be ratified.
John Michaels has resigned as the law enforcement representative. He will be
replaced by Mike Guthrie with a term to expire 01/11/94. He will be appointed
by the commissioners.

I am requesting that Captain Mike Miller continue to be my representative on the 911
Authority Board until further notice or expiration of his next term. I understand
there are several issues confronting the board that have not been resolved.
Specifically those issues include property ownership and the scope of authority to
purchase equipment related to the 911 operating system. Until these issues are
resolved and further defined by the board, I feel it best to promote continuity in
board membership by having Captain Miller continue to serve in this capacity. Please
call me if you have any questions.
