Harbert, Pro-Tem Commissioner C. W. Kirby Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison County Engineer, Drew Scheltinga The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated April 22, 1992, and duly published April 30, 1992, in the New News, a public hearing was conducted to consider the creation of a local improvement district, to be known as Weld County Road 34 Local Improvement District No. 1992-2. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record. He said we have not received a response from the Town of Mead, but it is not clear whether their approval is required. He suggested that if the Board approve the creation today, they do so conditional upon receiving any approvals which might be legally required. Drew Scheltinga, County Engineer, said the project limits are for Weld County Road 34, between Interstate 25 and Weld County Road 13, a distance of 2 miles. He explained the contract will include shaping, grading, draining, preparing the base, and paving. The roadway will have 12-foot travel lanes with 4-foot gravel shoulders. The base course preparation is to include final grading, wetting and compaction. Paving will include placement of 2; inches of hot bituminous pavement. Mr. Scheltinga said they received 20 signatures out of 25 parcels. He said the cost estimate is $103,400 for paving (3, 600 ton) , $102, 000 for preparation (13, 100 ton) , and $15, 000 for administration, for a total cost of $220, 400. The District Contribution includes 25 parcels at $1, 000, for a total of $25, 000. There was no public testimony given. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve the Resolution creating Weld County Road 32 Local Improvement District No. 1992-2, conditional upon receiving any approvals which might be legally required. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Webster, and carried unanimously. This Certification was approved on the 3rd day of June, 1992.
