RE: APPOINTMENT OF AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL TO IMPLEMENT
THE WELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PLAN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners, by Resolution dated April
27, 1992, appointed a Temporary Weld County Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Advisory Council for the specific purpose of assisting the Director of the Weld
County Health Department in the development of a recommendation to the Board of
County Commissioners for the provision of County-wide physician advisor services
for Weld County Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) , and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners deems it proper to appoint
a Weld County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council for the purpose of
coordinating and overseeing the physician advisor services for Weld County EMTs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that a Weld County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council
shall be established this date with membership consisting of the following
representatives:
1. The Director of the Weld County Ambulance Service;
2. A representative from the Tri-Area Ambulance Service;
3. A representative from the Platte Valley Fire Protection District;
4. A representative from the North Colorado Medical Center;
5. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the northeast part of Weld County;
6. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the northwest part of Weld County;
7. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the southeast part of Weld County;
8. A representative from a fire protection district/fire department in
the southwest part of Weld County;
9. The Chief of the City of Greeley Fire Department or his designee;
10. The President of the Weld County Fire Chiefs Association or his
designee.
11. EMS Coordinator for the Emergency Services Division of Aims
Community College.

Representation by fire protection districts/fire departments shall be
determined by vote of the fire protection district/fire departments of
each respective geographical location.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Council shall promulgate rules for service and length of term for
service and shall submit such rules to the Board for approval.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Council be, and hereby is, appointed for the purpose of coordinating and
overseeing the provision of County-wide physician advisor services for the
applicable members of Weld County fire districts. The Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Council shall meet at such times and places as necessary to accomplish
this purpose.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of October, A.D. , 1992.
