Box 758 ' ._,,. Greeley, CO 80632 Dear Commissioners: At our recent meeting of the Tri-Area Planning Commission, Frederick Town Board Member, Mary Jane Hall, asked that a letter be written asking your assistance with a major concern in unincorporated Evanston. Mary Jane Hall 's concern is the amount of speeding traffic which goes through on Johnson Street. Her exact comment was, "cars can pick up a lot of speed when there is a straight shot from 8th Street in Frederick through Evanston and on up to McClure Avenue in Firestone, and not once do you see a stop sign to prevent speeding traffic ." There have been fatalities over the years in Evanston from speeding cars. And because of the fact it is unincorporated, there is no supervision from the Weld County Sheriff Department to catch those who speed through Evanston. We ask you as a Commission and as concerned citizens to improve the safety and welfare of the elderly, the children and all who live on the main street of Evanston, to help get a stop sign put up some where in Evanston in order to reduce speeding. We appreciate any help or suggestions you can give us in this matter. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me at the Dacono City Hall , 1-833-2317 or at my home 1-833-4851. Thank you. Sincerely, -1 01.6-4461iLe Aim Laursen Chair ,/Pri-Area Planning Commission JL:rm i t., 880486 Hello
