Kirby, Chairman Commissioner Jacqueline Johnson, Pro-Tem Commissioner Gene Brantner Commissioner George Kennedy Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Mary Reiff Assistant County Attorney, Lee D. Morrison Director of Engineering Services, Drew Scheltinga Director of Finance and Administration, Donald Warden Certified Shorthand Reporter, Jolene R. Gaffey The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated March 1 , 1989, and duly published in the Platteville Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the creation of a Local Improvement District to be known as Weld County 71st Avenue Local Improvement District No. 1989-1. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this matter of record. Mr. Morrison noted that a number of petitions opposing creation of this district have been received, with some persons signing both the original petition requesting creation of the district and the petition opposing it. He said when the lots owned by those persons signing both petitions are deleted, the petition requesting creation of this district no longer represents the required majority of the lots. Commissioner Johnson moved to deny the request for the creation of this district, based upon the lack of support from the owners of the majority of the affected lots. Commissioner Lacy seconded the motion which carried unanimously. Chairman Kirby stated that the Board will be glad to consider alternate proposals. Brad March, attorney for those opposing creation of this district, asked to be notified if an alternate proposal is received. This Certification was approved on the 17th day of April, 1989.
