RE: GRANT MOBILE HOME PERMIT NO. 974 - SLS TURKEY FARMS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, on the 23rd day of January, 1985 , considered the request
of SLS Turkey Farms for a mobile home to be used as more than one
mobile home or accessory dwelling unit as an accessory to a farm,
and
WHEREAS, said mobile home is to be occupied in an
A-Agricultural Zone District on a parcel of land being more
particularly described as follows:
The Ek NE4, Section 20 , Township 2 North,
Range 67 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County,
Colorado
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, having heard the
testimony, finds that said request should be granted subject to
the following conditions: 1) the applicant shall apply for a
building permit for the mobile home within thirty days from the
date of approval by the Board of County Commissioners; 2) prior to
the issuance of a building permit, the owner shall submit evidence
that the proposed water tap is supplying water in such a manner as
to be adequate in quality, quantity and dependability for the
proposed use; and 3) the mobile home shall not be occupied until
such time that the applicant has complied with the above mentioned
conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of SLS
Turkey Farms for permission to place a mobile home to be used as a
principal dwelling on the above described parcel of land, which
was found to be in compliance with Section 43 of the Weld County
Zoning Ordinance be, and hereby is, granted subject to the
hereinabove listed conditions.

Legal Description of Parcel: The E4 NE4, Section 20, T2N, R67W of the 6th

Location: Approximately .75 mile east of Firestone; south of Weld County
Road 20 and east of Weld County Road 15
The Department of Planning Services staff has reviewed this request and
recommends that the request be approved for the reasons:

COMMENTS:
The applicant would like to provide additional housing on their turkey farm
to supplement the two (2) existing brick residences which house full-time
employees. The Department of Planning Services has not received any
objections to this proposal from surrounding property owners.

The Department of Planning Services staff recommendation for approval is
conditional upon:
1. The applicant applying for a building permit for the mobile home within
thirty (30) days from the date of approval by the Board of County
Commissioners.
2. Prior to the issuance of a building permit, the owner shall submit
evidence that the proposed water tap is supplying water in such a
manner as to be adequate in quality, quantity and dependability for the
proposed use.
3. The mobile home shall not be occupied until such time that the
applicant has complied with Conditions 1 and 2 above.

site slopes to the west.

MOBILE HOME AS AN ACCESSORY USE ON A FARM
(Section 43.2. 3, Weld County Zoning Ordinance)
I, the undersigned, understand and agree to the conditions of this Zoning
Permit which are as follows:
1. All zoning permits for mobile homes as accessory uses are temporary.
Such permits shall automatically expire and the mobile home shall be
removed upon the cessation of the use of the mobile home as an accessory
use; and
2. A zoning permit for more than one mobile home in the "A" Agricultural
Zone District as an accessory use may be issued only upon approval by the
Board of County Commissioners.
Further, I, the undersigned, meet the following conditions which are required
to be eligible for this permit:
• 1. The mobile home will be occupied by persons customarily employed at or
engaged in the operation of the use where the mobile home is located;
2. The mobile home is necessary for the effective and economic operation of
the use and/or protection of the agricultural use;

property by tap number 175 . Additional water service
can be made available to this property provided all
requirements of the District are satisfied .
Central Weld County Water District requires that contracts

letter , or this letter shall become null and void unless
extended in writing by the District .

To whom it may concern:
We feel it is important for our people to live
on the farm to perform duties at night, on weekends
and holidays. Those people living off the farm have
to drive to work which could result in car problems,
weather delays, etc. In the event of an emergency
our people would be on the farm ready to care for
the birds and/or property very quickly. Our turkeys
require care before and after normal working hours
so it is efficient to have our people right there on
the farm. Having our people live on the farm saves
us from paying rental allowances. Finally, security
would be strenghtened- we ould ve less trespassing
and vandalism.
