Re: Disclosure of Con€lict of Interest Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute
18-8-308, as Amended
Dear Secretary of State:
As you know, Colorado Revised Statutes, 18-8-308 requires that a disclosure be
made of any conflict of interest involving any substantial discretionary func-
tion in connection with a government contract, purchase payment or other pecu-
niary transaction. I am now serving as a Commissioner for the Greeley-Weld
County Airport Authority with a term expiring September 9, 1986.
You should know that I have the following interests in the private sector
which may, from time to time, conflict with my duties as a Commissioner for
the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority.
1. The Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority from time to time borrows money
and does its banking at the United Bank of Greeley where I also do some of my
personal as well as corporate banking.
2. I own an airplane for which I buy fuel, lease space and generally use the
Greeley-Weld County Airport.
3. I am also president of Leah Drilling, Inc. which also may from time to
time conflict with my duties as a commissioner of the Greeley-Weld County
Airport Authority. The Authority ownes and manages some farms associated
with the airport. A portion of the irrigation water used on these farms
is from irrigation wells and turbine pumps. Drilling, repairing and ser-
vicing wells and pumping equipment is the main stay of our business.
I am furnishing you the above information only because C.R.S. 18-8-308 re-
quires such disclosure. While I intend to exercise good judgment in voting
on matters affecting the Airport at all times, I have been advised to file
this letter for your information.
