RE: APPROVE FINANCE CHARGE FOR PAST DUE ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the Board' s attention that no finance
charge is being assessed on past due accounts receivable, and
WHEREAS, the Accounting Department recommends that those
accounts receivable which are past due at least 61 days be
assessed a finance charge on said past due balance of 1 . 5% per
month or 18% per annum, and
WHEREAS, it is further recommended that the accounts of
Medicaid and Medicare be exempt from said assessment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that effective January 1 ,
1989 , a finance charge shall be assessed on all accounts
receivable 61 days in arrears, except Medicaid and Medicare.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that said finance charge
shall be set at 1 .5% per month or 18% per annum.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 7th day of
November, A.D. , 1988 .
