Home My WebLink About871542.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PLACEMENT OF SPEED LIMIT SIGNS IN EAST EATON WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board did, by Resolution dated November 4 , 1987 , refer a letter from Benito de la Torre, Jr. , to the Weld County Engineering Department and the Director of Finance for their recommendation, and WHEREAS, Mr. de la Torre was advised of the recommendations from the Director of Finance in a letter dated November 13 , 1987 , and WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has recommended that speed limit signs be placed at the access points into the East Eaton community, with two signs on Weld County Road 74i and one sign on Factory Road, to insure the safety of the traveling public, and WHEREAS, after reviewing the recommendation of the Engineering Department, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Road and Bridge Department be, and hereby is , directed to install speed limit signs at the access points into the East Eaton community, and that said signs shall conform to the State manual and specifications. n n Ewan �cr.c }' 871542 Page 2 RE: SPEED LIMIT SIGNS - EAST EATON The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 14th day of December, A.D. , 1987 . jj . County Engineer Subject Speed Limit Signs_in East Eaton This is in response to the letter by Benito DeLa Torre Jr. , dated October 28, 1987. Mark Street, Maintenance-Support Supervisor, has reviewed the traffic circulation in East Eaton. I agree with his recommendation to place 25-mph speed limit signs at the access points into the East Eaton area. There would be two 25-mph speed limit signs placed on Weld County Road 74-1/2 and one 25-mph speed limit sign placed on Factory Road. The speed limit signs themselves will not control speeding. However, if there is to be a law enforcement effort, speed limit signs should be in place. CONCERNING VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS IN EAST EATON WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , the Board has received a letter from Benito de la Torre , Jr. requesting various improvements in East Eaton, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to refer said request to the Weld County Engineering Department and the Director of Finance for their recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request from Benito de la Torre , Jr. concerning certain improvements in East Eaton be , and hereby is, referred to the Weld County Engineering Department and• the Director of Finance for their recommendation.
